RICK POUR

Rick Pour was born in Tehran, Iran. His family relocated to the United States when he was 3 years old, initially settling in Long Island, New York. At an early age, Rick’s father instilled in him a love for movies. While growing up in the 70s and 80s, arguably a golden age for the horror genre, Rick became enthralled by the art and magic of Make-Up Effects. In 1987, he and his parents moved to Wilmington, N.C., home of Screen Gems Studios. While finishing high school, Rick began working for TransWorld Entertainment in their retail music store, Tape World, eventually working his way up to Assistant Manager. His love for movies eventually saw him transfer to their video sales division, Saturday Matinee, where he was promoted to Store Manager. While being groomed to eventually move up to District Manager and with the help of his mentor Jeff Goodwin, Rick landed his first job as a Make-up FX Artist on the Brandon Lee noir cult hit "The Crow". In 1995, he and Goodwin co-founded Transformations Makeup FX Lab, an award-winning full-service makeup studio. However, the doors were closed in 2003 when Goodwin moved to Italy. Now, as a twenty-seven year veteran of the film industry, Rick has been fortunate enough to work with some of the biggest Directors in Hollywood such as, J.J. Abrams (Super 8), James Wan (The Conjuring), Ang Lee (Ride with the Devil) and Roland Emmerich (The Patriot).  Most recently, Rick was the Head of the Makeup Dept. for DC Universe’s “Swamp Thing” and oversaw both make-up and make-up FX on the re-boot of the ultra popular “Scream” franchise as well as Blumhouse’s horror film “The Black Phone”.
